Founded in 1908 by William Durant as a holding company, it is now one of the largest automobile manufacturers. It produces automobiles under four brands - GMC (Terrain, Acadia, Hummer EV, Denali series, AT4 line), Chevrolet (Trailblazer, Equinox, Bolt EV, Spark), Cadillac (Escalade, CT4/CT5, 2023 Cadillac Lyriq), and Buick (Encore, Envision). The company has announced its aim to end fossil-fuel vehicles’ sale by 2035 and achieve carbon-net zero by 2040.
